Ronald L. Beaubien (Ron) joined the Rotary Club of Coronado in 1976 with a classification of Insurance, General.  He served his club as Secretary, Director for four years and finally President in 1984-85.  Ron served District 5340 as District Governor in 1994-95 and has participated various District 5340 Committees and a number of Rotary International Committees and served on the Board of Directors of Rotary International 2003-05.  He and his wife Vicki are major donors to the Rotary Foundation.

Ron is the President of Island Insurance Services Inc., DBA:  Crown Island Insurance Agency, primarily engaged in providing casualty and property insurance services.

Ron also served as past chairman of the Selective Service Draft Board #181, director and secretary of the Bank of Coronado for 20 years, trustee and secretary of United States International University for 15 years (now named Alliant University), past president of the Coronado Hospital Foundation, served on the Coronado Unified School District's School Site Council, San Diego Crime Commission, Children's Hospital Special Fund Raising Task Force, Board of Trustees Idyllwild Arts Foundation (year around Art’s academy) Idyllwild, California and was past chairman of the City of Coronado Recreation Commission.  Ron served Coronado Chamber of Commerce as their President for two years 1980 and 1981.  He received the Active 20/30 Club Award for service to Coronado in 1974, the Active 20/30 Award for outstanding International Service in 1980 from the International President of Active 20/30, the Children's Hospital and Health Center Honorary Auxiliary Award of the Year in 1986 and honored by the Rotary Club of Coronado as Rotarian of the Year in 1989.  In 1993, Ron and his wife, Vicki, were honored when the Coronado Chamber of Commerce presented them the Coronado Distinguished Citizen Award, "Award of Service", the highest award given by the Coronado Chamber for outstanding service to the City of Coronado.  Additionally, Ron is a member of Masonic Lodge #441, Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Temple of Free Masonry and the Al-Bahr Shrine Temple.

A native Californian, Ron and Vicki have been residents of Coronado since 1969 and will celebrate 40 years of marriage in November. They have 2 sons, both graduates of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California - Layne, a professional water polo player, currently a member of the United States Olympic and National Team - Brady is working in the film industry in Hollywood with his own Film Production Company.
